In today's video, I talk about the uses and benefits of Remote Text in Autocad! Remote text, or RText is an often under used express tool that has been available for quite a while now, some parts of Rtexts functionality has been included and updated in Fields and you should definitely check out the video on fields linked above, but I wanted to share one of my favorite uses for Rtext in todays video/article. Remote text allows you to link or reference a text (.txt) document directly into your drawing. The object will then behave like a mix of an MText object and an xref. This allows you to make changes to typical/standard notes in a lot of drawings at the same time by simply updating the .txt file that they are referencing.
