Fun fact for all the Disney fans out there! The highly anticipated live-action remake of The Little Mermaid (2023) saw a tear-jerking audition by Halle Bailey for the role of Ariel. Director Rob Marshall personally invited Bailey to audition after being blown away by her live performance. However, the casting decision wasn't without controversy. The hashtag #NotMyAriel quickly trended on social media as some fans voiced their disagreement with the choice of Bailey as Ariel.
